Nature meditation retreat in Luosto 27.6.-3.7.2026

Theme: “Steps towards Buddha Nature”

Nature Meditation Retreat at Luosto 2026

Sydänmaa is organising a nature meditation retreat at Luosto for almost a week, which will allow us to take an inner and outer step towards our inner self, as well as to listen to and caress our bodies in nature and with the elements of nature. Many of us experience a deep connection with nature, but do not realise that nature reflects back to us the Buddha nature of our own self, the part of us that is always natural, serene and in harmony with all life. At the same time, our inner being also bubbles with joy, creativity and unconditional love. To be able to descend into being natural requires accepting our humanity and becoming aware of anything “stuck on”, such as conditions or beliefs imposed by the environment or ourselves.

Nature and silence at the heart of the retreat

The retreat consists of guided and silent meditations both indoors and in and with nature, as well as teaching sessions to support the meditation. We will also take small hikes to open and empower our bodies and open our hearts to nature, of which we are an integral part. We will spend some of the times in silence and stillness so that our silent Buddha nature can become more recognisable.

Participation in the retreat does not require previous participation in meditation retreats or excellent physical fitness. However, it does require a willingness to sit in meditation for a total of about 3-4 hours a day and a heartfelt desire to take a step towards a deeper self, which often also means having the courage to look at those parts of yourself that you have not yet learned to accept and love. Our warm atmosphere and years of experience in holding meditation retreats create a safe and optimal platform towards peace of mind and resting in the heart. It is a journey with inner enrichment!

Teachers

Leena and Hans Christian Hansen

Teachers Leena and Hans Christian Hansen have been dedicated to the study of spiritual traditions, yoga, meditation and spiritual living for over twenty years. They have both taught in the late Asger Lorentsen’s trainings and run their own courses and retreats for over fifteen years. Currently Leena and Hans Christian are students of the American spiritual teacher Mark Sullivan and the Indian teacher Sri M.(Sri M is a student of the legendary Himalayan spiritual teacher Sri Guru Babaji). Both teachers support the Bodhisattva School and other Heartland trainings. The training is essentially not about the knowledge or vision of individual teachers, but about a broader impulse from multiple spiritual traditions and masters. The course is not an invitation to follow any one teacher or spiritual tradition, but rather to provide a rich and practical daily experience of finding one’s own inner connection to one’s own inner spiritual home through sustained practice. The languages of instruction are Finnish and English, translated into Finnish if necessary.

You are warmly welcome to our trainings and retreats, if your heart is in it! Feel free to pass on information about them.

Who can participate: our retreats are open to anyone without a previous retreat background. However, you should have some understanding and experience of meditation so that you know what it is all about. However, everyone can deepen their own practice from the situation in which they find themselves. If you have acute mental health problems, please let us know when you register so that we can discuss together whether the retreat can support your situation or, in some cases, the opposite.
